In 2019, Matt Capelouto tragically lost his daughter Alexandra to fentanyl poisoning. During this difficult time, Capelouto relied on a trusted worker from his Temecula-based business to take on more responsibilities. However, that worker, Yulian Galaz, is now facing serious charges of embezzling $178,000 from Capelouto’s Same Day T-shirt Printing company.
Capelouto recalls entrusting Galaz with more responsibilities, which included collecting payments, as it was challenging for him to manage those tasks at the time. “He offered to do that… felt he was doing the right things to help me out under the circumstances,” said Capelouto. Unfortunately, Galaz took advantage of Capelouto’s grief and allegedly devised a scheme using Square, a financial services platform.
The alleged scheme involved swiping customer payments into Galaz’s personal Square account instead of the business account. Customers were unaware as their statements still displayed Capelouto’s business name. When confronted about these accusations after entering a not guilty plea in court, Galaz chose not to respond and physically blocked our photographer outside Riverside Superior Court in Murrieta.
To make matters worse, after being fired for embezzlement and stealing most of Capelouto’s life savings, Galaz opened up a competing screen printing, embroidery, direct to garment shop just miles away from Capelouto’s establishment. “Very likely with the money he stole… It’s unfathomable,” expressed an astonished Capelouto about this audacious act by his former worker. Ironically enough, Friday marked four years since the tragic passing of Capelouto’s daughter when Galaz turned himself in for arrest.
This distressing turn of events has left Matt Capelouto grappling with immense loss both personally and professionally as he continues seeking justice while building back what was taken from him.
Wow, this person is truly evil. Will never step foot in Slap Ink
I know the person who committed this crime. My wife used to work with his wife. The Slap Ink store was put in his mothers name to help shield his liability. Yulian Galaz now goes by the name Jay Ramos. This is an alias to help shield him from being recognized. All involved in the Slap Ink store are really not good people.
I cannot fathom how someone could do this to a man who was going through so much pain and heartache.
Yulian should be locked away, who knows how many more businesses he’s going to do this to, or what he’s capable of.
We need to get this man off the streets of Temecula!!
Temecula will be better off without him that’s for sure
This guy is a looser!
